Dezmond Rogers

Viola, Cello, Bass

Dezmond Rogers, Electric/Double Bassist, is a Florida native who recently completed his Master’s degree in performance under fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Dezmond completed his Bachelor’s degree in Double Bass Performance at the University of Miami. Some of his teachers include 1st chair bassist of New York Philharmonic Tim Cobb, 1st chair bassist of the San Francisco Symphony Scott Pingle and Broadway Musical veteran Paul Reich. He has a diverse career as a musician ranging from classical to jazz and much more. In addition to completing his education, he has performed as a soloist with regional orchestras, a chamber musician, and section bassist with orchestras such as the Owensboro Symphony, Venice Beach Symphony and the world renowned New World Symphony under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas. He is also an educator working as a sectional coach, conductor, and private teacher along the East Coast. Dezmond has performed with many bands as a member and leader but now is the current Orchestra Director and Music Theory teacher at the Indian River Charter High School.
